DETAILED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Cullen Medical Equipment, Inc.

Director of Information Technology

Built the information technology infrastructure of this home medical equipment company from a handful of computers and key telephone sets to a company with fifty computers in five locations linked with a frame relay wide area network. Employees had modern telephones and access to voice mail. Lotus Notes was used for electronic mail, document distribution and other applications. Built a Web site to show the company to the world (www.cullenmed.com).

This company was sold to a national chain in June 1999.

Laramore, Douglass and Popham

Mechanical Department Manager

Laramore, Douglass and Popham is a fifty person consulting engineering firm. Performs studies and provides project management and engineering for utility and industrial power projects. Supervises mechanical engineering and drafting staff. Responsible for CAD drafting support for all disciplines. Responsible for computer systems and local area network.

Developed Relational Database Application for Tracking Power Flow
Commonwealth Edison Company, Chicago, IL.
Designed the database and wrote the code for a system to track power flow at O'Hare Airport. This program allows the utility to determine the power source when there is an outage at the airport, which allows maintenance personnel to isolate and repair the problem.
Performed a cogeneration study.
Commonwealth Edison Company, Chicago, Illinois
Studied the feasibility of installing a cogeneration facility at Chrysler's Belvidere Assembly Plant. The study included a preliminary design and cost estimate. The design studied consisted of a gas turbine generator with waste heat recovery and six, reciprocating engine generators. Provided a report with installation and operating costs to the client, Commonwealth Edison.
Provided mechanical engineering support for a cogeneration plant.
Lyonsdale Energy Limited Partnership, Lyonsdale, NY
This facility is a grass-roots, wood fired, 20 MW cogeneration plant. Was responsible for all mechanical engineering including piping stress analysis.

Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation

Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for business development in the areas of fossil utility power generation and industrial power in a four state territory. Not much business was developed and S&W retreated to Boston.

Sargent & Lundy, Engineers

Program Manager

Responsible for a feasibility study, cost estimate and report on a cogeneration system for a wet corn milling facility.
Hubinger, Keokuk, IA
Conducted a cogeneration study for a grain processing plant. The proposed cogeneration scheme will use both steam and gas turbine generators.
Provided project coordination and major technical input for a refuse derived fuel (RDF) combustion study for various existing power plants.
Tennessee Valley Authority, Chattanooga, TN
Conducted a study, produced and presented a report on the burning of RDF at TVA's Gallatin, Allen, Kingston and Colbert stations.

Project Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for mechanical engineering, design and drafting for a thermal solar electric generating station.
Luz Industries, Israel
Mechanical engineering for a 80 MW solar powered plant located at Harper Lake, California. The plant is the first of five units and will be part of the largest solar power plant in the world.
Responsible for project development work and mechanical engineering for a gas turbine cogeneration plant.
Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company, Oklahoma City, OK
Mechanical engineering to support the relocation and conversion to cogeneration service of four existing gas turbines. The turbines are fitted with waste heat recovery boilers with the steam supplying refinery process needs.
Responsible for mechanical engineering review and overall coordination of an independent engineering and construction review of a large scale combined cycle cogeneration plant.
First National Bank of Chicago - Chicago, Illinois
First Chicago hired Sargent & Lundy to perform an independent engineering review of the Midland Cogeneration Project. The Midland project involves the conversion of an unfinished nuclear plant to a combined cycle cogeneration plant. The bank provided major funding.
Responsible for mechanical engineering for a refuse fired cogeneration facility.
Ogden Martin Systems, Inc. - Fairfield, New Jersey
Mechanical engineering to support the construction of a 16 MW steam turbine cogeneration plant. Steam is exported to a nearby district heating system in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Performed a recycle water system study.
Inland Steel Company - East Chicago, Indiana
A study was conducted to locate the source and find solutions for an oil contamination problem in the plant's existing recycle water system.

PDS Engineers & Constructors, Inc.

Project General Manager:

Engineering Project Manager on a municipal refuse fired, steam turbine generating plant. Responsibilities included engineering, scheduling and procurement.
Ogden Martin Systems, Inc. - Paramus, New Jersey
The project involved engineering to support the construction of a 14 MW steam turbine generating plant in Marion County, Oregon. The plant is fired with 550 tons per day of municipal refuse. Engineering responsibilities cover all aspects of the design from site preparation through plant start-up. Project mechanical engineer on a municipal refuse fired cogeneration plant.
Ogden Martin Systems, Inc. - Paramus, New Jersey
A municipal refuse fired power plant which generated electricity and provided process steam for an adjacent oil refinery. The project was located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Project general manager on a turn-key, lump sum project to build a coal fired steam power plant. Had total responsibility for engineering, construction and start-up.
A. E. Staley Manufacturing Company, Champaign, Illinois
A grass roots 100,000 lb/hr stoker coal fired steam power plant was constructed along with coal handling, ash handling and pollution control facilities. Engineering project manager of a project to convert two existing gas turbine cogeneration units to combined cycle operation.
Energy Factors, Inc., San Diego, California -
Steam turbine generators were added to two existing natural gas fired gas turbine units. The steam turbines are driven by steam produced in waste heat boilers.
